This is the current show (July 2012) for which I took photos. All the dancers are amateurs and despite the short lead time of 4 weeks they put on a very acceptable show.
- I was a bit concerned that the show would not gel after the rehearsal but I needn’t have worried. The backdrop and props were excellent.
- Knees up!
- Smith gets the bug.
- The “love interest” couple get to dance. In real life there was apparently no realtionship between them. That’s what you get for saving a dude’s life!
- The finale
- The Smith dude gets airborne
- Team lift!
- The braves get jumping
- This kid who was apparently a hummingbird (I have not seen the movie) has a killer grin!
- Pocahontas starts the show (well, her part of the show anyway)
- Tableau at the end of a dance
- Waiting their turn
- Sunday afternoon was the dress rehearsal in the incomplete NB studio. There was a lot of waiting around…
What hits the theatre nowadays?
Don’t “get” your title?
Pocohontas or Zimbabwe Absurdity? The first is the title of the dance show. If you read more of the blog you will understand the main title – just how bizarre everyday life is in Zimbabwe.
